I have a little gift for you today! I wanted to share my favourite healing recipes with you, foods I eat weekly (or even daily!) to support my healing journey (and also because they are absolutely delicious!). I hope you like them as much as I do. Let me know what you think, once you tried them!
Stewed Apples
Pectin is an amazing source of soluble fibre that feeds the good bacteria in the gut and works wonders for blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
INGREDIENTS
- 4 organic apples, washed, seeded, chopped, but not peeled!
- Filtered water
- 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp raisins (optional, sweet preference)
DIRECTIONS
- Add apples, cinnamon, and optional raisins to a saucepan andcover with a little filtered water. Bring to a boil for about 8-10 minutes, until soft.
- Eat a couple of teaspoons a day for microbiome support added to things or as a delicious dessert
Healing Chicken broth
I feel like I have written so much about this, you know everything already, but in short, if you want to heal your gut lining, replenish your minerals, experience smoother and more resilient skin and have less joint pain- gelatinous broth is your friend
Apple Chicken Liver
Ok, I know I know. But please do not claim you hate liver if you haven’t tried my mum’s chicken liver with apple recipe. It’s so bloody good. The liver needs no introduction, the ultimate nutrient powerhouse, crazy high in iron, b12, folate and other nutrients.
Sauerkraut and kimchi
Start with 1 tablespoon per day and work your way up to 3tbs per day. Your gut, skin, immunity and mind will thank you. Sauerkraut is also an amazing source of fibre and nutrients like vitamin C, K and iron! Did you know theres at least 1 million CFU (live probiot ic bacteria) in 1g of sauerkraut ?🤯
