I Achieved Hashimoto’s Remission Without Restriction or Burnout

When I was first diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, I made a decision. After moving through the initial overwhelm, I told myself I would do whatever it takes to get into remission. But this was NOT the Hashimoto’s remission without restriction that I teach today.

Back then, I was trying every healing protocol I could find, especially the AIP approach. I eliminated nearly everything from my diet – gluten, dairy, nightshades, eggs, nuts, seeds, soy, anything processed, anything with a label, and anything containing iodine.

Side note: AIP stands for Autoimmune Protocol. It’s still promoted by many wellness experts as the ultimate Hashimoto’s solution, but that mentality no longer holds up. Even Dr Sarah Ballantyne, the creator of AIP, has since shifted to an inclusion-based model.

Back then, I was taking over 20 supplements a day and became scared of everything around me.

And to be honest, it worked at first. My antibody levels went down. My symptoms improved. I felt hopeful, proud even. I thought I had found the right path.

But slowly, things started to unravel:

  • I was mentally and physically exhausted, all the time
  • I lived in constant fear
  • I blamed myself for every bad day
  • I picked apart everything I did and thought it was my fault
  • I was always sick
  • My nervous system was on fire
  • I stopped going out because ordering food became a source of anxiety
  • I judged others for not eating “clean” enough

At first, I didn’t even realise any of this. I truly thought I was doing the right thing. I had this smug little glow that came with following a “perfect” healing plan.

But bit by bit, I began to feel different. Disconnected. Everyone else was living a normal life. Meanwhile, I was shrinking into a shell of myself.

I stayed stuck in a “why me” loop for far too long.

The final straw came when I lost my period.

It disappeared for over a year. My ovulation stopped entirely. It was likely due to a mix of nutrient depletion, excessive restriction, and the chronic stress of living in fight-or-flight mode.

Eventually, I got curious and tested my cortisol. It came back high. Suddenly, things started to make sense.

Fast forward seven years and everything looks different.

I studied the nervous system. I learned about polyvagal theory and immersed myself in the world of somatic therapies. I reintroduced foods. I reintroduced pleasure. I allowed myself to feel safe again.

My body became mine again.

My Hashimoto’s went into full remission. I slowly came off medication. And once I graduated from nutrition college, I made it my mission to help others do the same — without restriction, without fear, and without giving up joy.

Because healing Hashimoto’s should be sustainable. It should be enjoyable.

That’s exactly why I created BLOOM, my signature programme for women with Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism. The approach is not rooted in perfection, but in real life.

This is what healing really looks like:

  • Prioritising nervous system safety over strict rules
  • Eating with inclusion in mind, not just restriction
  • Designing elimination protocols that are temporary and tailored
  • Supporting detox pathways so you can live in the real world
  • Valuing lifestyle just as much as food — movement, sleep, routine, self-care
  • Creating small nourishing moments that fit into your day
  • Reconnecting to nature and supporting your circadian rhythm
  • Rewiring your mindset and core beliefs
  • Trusting that your body can and does heal

This is the foundation of my work. It’s the reason BLOOM exists. And it’s the reason I’m here — to guide you, to support you, and to show you what’s possible when you walk this path with the right support.

Your time is now. Hashimoto’s remission without restriction is possible. If this resonates, I’d love for you to join us. Click here to read more, sign up, or join the waiting list for the next cohort of BLOOM.
