The number one thing I recommend to all my clients when we get started with one of my programmes. And it works like a mini-miracle. It’s all about the blood sugar levels, my friends. To put it simply, you must balance the crap out of them. And as much as it’s a fairly complex process and the imbalances will differ from one person to another, there is one thing you can do today to move things in the right direction. Increase your protein intake.

Protein provides a sustainable energy release and prevents blood sugar. Insulin and cortisol spike and dip throughout the day and at night (hello, uninterrupted sleep). Those fluctuations lead to cravings, low energy, and crankiness. We don’t want that.

So, here’s a solution. Depending on your activity level make sure you consume at least 0.8 g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day – ESPECIALLY WITH BREAKFAST. For instance, for me, that would be approx. 20g of protein per meal, give or take.

I know it can be tricky first thing in the morning, cos how many eggs can one eat without getting a little bored. But a high protein brekkie is crucial to set the tone for the day ahead. Through all your endless Zoom meetings and not-so-good news feed on your phone. Trust me, it makes all the difference.
