Salmon Patties / Fishcakes – your new fish dish staple! Quick and easy to make, delicious to eat, and packed full with all the good and healthy stuff you need…
Jump to RecipeSalmon Patties / Fishcakes for fish sceptics. And fish lovers. Salmon addicts beware! You’ll want to eat these every day…
Salmon is awesome. It’s packed with healthy fats (hello, best source of Omega 3s!), high-quality protein, antioxidants and vitamins/minerals. This fish definitely deserves a place on your regular menu list.
Grilling is what you’re likely used to doing with salmon. Or just frying them up. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, I hereby challenge you to try something slightly different and honestly, not at all time-consuming.
Serve them in a bun. Or with a salad. Eat on their own. However you like! They are just so, SO, so good and ridiculously easy to make. And if you fancy something sweet for afters? Check out my stupid easy mid-week brownies!
Also, if you happen to be against fish (who are you??), I personally guarantee that you will still love them – they are not fishy at all!
This recipe makes approximately eight patties (two per serving) depending on your size preference. ? That’s that. They taste like seaside heaven. Minimal effort with maximum reward. Win!

minutesIngredients
1 tbsp Coconut Oil
400g Fresh Salmon
¼ Large Onion
1 Medium Egg
1 Cup Gluten-Free Breadcrumbs
½ Cup Wild Garlic
1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
1 tbsp Coconut Aminos
1 tsp Lemon Juice
- To Taste
Dill, Cayenne Pepper, Salt, Pepper
Directions
- Remove the skin from the salmon
- Chop into very small chunks. Alternatively, blitz in a food processor, making sure some texture remains, you don’t want it too mushy!
- Transfer the salmon to a large bowl and combine with other ingredients
- Create perfectly shaped patties (4-5 cm in diameter)
- Fry for approximately 4 mins a side on a gently oiled pan (coconut oil works well) until lightly browned . Be careful not to overcook!
Notes
- You can skip the bread if you’re keto, paleo or whatever. Or if you simply don’t get along with grains!
- Coconut aminos are SOOOO tasty so just buy them. While you’re waiting for your order to arrive, use soy sauce or tamari instead.
- Wild garlic is really fancy and delicious, but 2 cloves of garlic will do just fine!
